What is a Gutter Downpipe used for?

A downpipe, also known as a downspout, is a pipe designed to carry rainwater from a roof or gutter system to the ground or a drainage system. Its primary function is to prevent water damage, erosion, and flooding by efficiently directing rainwater away from the building's foundation. By channelling water away promptly, downpipes protect the structural integrity of the building, prevent soil erosion, and mitigate issues such as leaks, mould growth, and deterioration of building materials. Connected to gutters, downpipes form an integral part of a building's rainwater drainage system, ensuring effective water management and preserving the surrounding landscaping.

What Length of Gutter Downpipe do I Need?

Single story buildings will typically need only a 2.5m length downpipe, whilst taller buildings may need a larger length. Lengths of downpipe can be connected with the Aluflow Downpipe Connector to achieve the correct length and fit to your building. 

What do I Need to Install The Aluflow Gutter Downpipe?

The Aluflow Gutter Downpipe is designed to be used in conjunction with other products in the Aluflow system. Pair with Aluflow Downpipe Connectors to join Downpipes together, whilst the Aluflow Downpipe Bracket is used to fasten your downpipe securely.
