What is Reflective Insulation?

Reflective insulation is a type of insulation that works by reflecting radiant heat instead of absorbing it. It typically consists of a material with a reflective surface, such as aluminum foil, which is attached to a substrate material like foam or bubble wrap. The reflective surface reflects heat radiation away from the surface, helping to keep the space behind it cooler in hot climates and warmer in cold climates.

Reflective insulation is commonly used in attics, walls, and roofs to reduce heat transfer by radiation. It's particularly effective in spaces where there is a temperature differential between the inside and outside environments.
