Rafter Supported Aluminium Glazing Bars

Made from a stylish and sturdy powder-coated aluminium, Alukap-XR glazing bars are an attractive step-up from the PVC glazing bars, making them perfect for creating stylish and more permanent-feeling roofing and glazing for Pergolas, Carports, Sunrooms and Gazebos. These rafter-supported Aluminium glazing bars are designed to be attached along the length of rafters of your pergola, lean-to, etc, to securely hold Polycarbonate sheets or glass in place and provide a stylish and neat finish. 

When looking polycarbonate roofing, there can sometimes be some hesitation over whether the finished result will be long-lasting, and whether it will look nice and suit the style of your home or outdoor space. If aesthetics and durability are an important part of your project, the Alukap system may be a preferable alternative to PVC glazing bar systems. Alukap-XR Aluminium Glazing Bar - used along the length of a rafter to secure polycarbonate sheets to the structure and seamlessly join them. 

Alukap-XR Gable Bar - used similarly to the glazing bar for end-rafters of a roof structure to finish off gable ends. 

Alukap-XR Aluminium End Stop Bar - use along the lower edge of the roof structure to protect roofing sheets from moisture and debris, and allow proper run-off and rain. They also help to add additional strength to the bars. 

Alukap-XR Wall Bar - used to connect the top edge of a lean-to roof to walls and protect the sheeting from rainwater ingress. 

Alukap-XR Top Wall Flashing - Used in conjunction with the Alukap-XR Wall Bar to ensure a watertight seal. 

Securbond Flashing Tape - Applied over the top of the Top Wall Flashing to complete waterproofing. 

Alukap-XR Anti Dust Breather Tape - use along the “open” edges of twinwall and multiwall polycarbonate sheets to protect the flutes from excess water, insects and debris, whilst allowing breathability that prevents excess condensation from forming.

Alukap-XR Rafter Gasket - Rafter gasket designed to be installed underneath glazing bars to add cushioning between the bar and the rafterm and add a waterproof seal. 

Alukap Glazing Bar Endcap - Whilst these are supplied with glazing bars, sometimes additional endcaps may be required when cutting lengths of end bars into smaller pieces, etc.

Alukap Hip Bar - used for joining the apex a hipped roof - ideal for creating roof lights/lanterns, sunrooms and conservatories.

Alukap-XR Ridge Bar - used for connecting the crest of an apex roof at the highest rafter, it’s sized to allow for various angles, whilst protecting the glazing system from water ingress.

Alukap-XR Ridge Gable End Plate - used to finish ridge bars where the roof finishes in a gable end. 

Alukap-XR Valley Bar - use to connect glazing where they meet at a downwards angle or “valley”, they should be fixed to rafters.
