General Use Wallboard Plasterboard
Also known as “drywall”, plasterboard is a commonly used building material in the construction of walls, particular in new buildings, renovations and extensions. It is easy to install - typically attached to wall studs or with plasterboard adhesive directly to the masonry. A general use plasterboard is used where no specific properties are required, such as moisture or fire resistance.
Soundbloc Acoustic Plasterboard
British Gypsum Soundbloc is an acoustic plasterboard typically applied in bedrooms, bathrooms and party walls where reduction of sound transfer is of a concern. Sound proof plasterboard tends to be heavier and denser than general use plasterboard, which give it added high acoustic performance.
Fireline Fire Rated Plasterboard
Fire rated plasterboard is a type of plasterboard designed to offer enhanced protection against fire. It contains special additives such as glass fibres to improve its fire resistance, and is typically used in areas where increased fire safety is required, such as in kitchens, corridors, and partition walls. Fireline fire resistant plasterboard is rated Euroclass A2-s1,d0 reaction to fire.
Moisture Resistant Plasterboard
Ideal for rooms with high humidity such as bathrooms and kitchens, moisture resistant plasterboard is designed specifically to resist moisture and humidity. Gyproc Moisture resistant plasterboard has a water vapour resistance factor (μ) of of 10.
