Description

For use in homes in known high-radon areas, the Novia 1600 Gauge Radon Barrier is a loose laid Radon Gas barrier and damp proof membrane (DPM). It is designed to block the transfer or Radon gases into the structure from the ground below. Complying with BR211 and UK Building Regulations for Radon protection, this barrier is a multi-purpose product that is easy to install.

Install the Novia 1600 Gauge Radon Barrier with a combination of double-sided butyl tape and BOPP tapes for an effective gas seal.

What is a DPM?

Damp Proof Membranes (DPM) are plastic membranes installed on the ground floor of a building designed to create a damp-resistant barrier between the structure and the foundations below - typically underneath a concrete floor. This helps to prevent issues caused by damp from the foundations below. 

As well as functioning as a Damp Proof Membrane (DPM) our Novia Gas barrier membranes are designed for protection from radon and/or methane gas. For help with deciding which gas barrier is required for your project, consult your builder, architect or engineer.

How do I Apply a Gas Barrier Membrane?

Novia Gas Barrier Membranes are installed flat, with the blue side facing towards the ground. They must be sealed firmly first with double-sided butyl tape, followed by a BOPP tape for a tight seal and effective result.
