Frequently asked questions

What are Timber Decking Boards?

Our Timber Decking boards are made of sturdy redwood pine timber, specifically designed with grooves along the length to help you build uniform and aesthetically pleasing outdoor decking with improved drainage and grip. In a choice of widths and lengths, you can choose the best size to suit your project. Please note that the number of grooves may vary, so it is best to ensure the correct quantities are ordered initially, to prevent any mismatch of subsequent orders.

What Lengths Does Timber Decking Come in?

Our treated timber decking comes in two widths (150mm and 125mm) in lengths of 3.6m and 4.8m.

32mm x 150mm Timber Decking Dimensions

What size are 32mm x 150mm Decking boards? Though the answer may seem obvious, with timber sizing things are actually a little more complicated. 32mm x 150mm is the “nominal size” - meaning the size that the timber is cut to before being planed. After planing, which is done to achieve a smooth and even length of timber, the end result is usually a few mm smaller in both width and thickness - closer to 26mm x 141mm. Finally, the moisture content of the timber may cause the timber to expand and or contract based on how much moisture it has absorbed, which can effect the exact measurements of the timber.

This small variance in size is small and typically not a problem for the large majority of projects, but is something to keep in mind.

Do I Need to Treat Timber Decking?

Our treated timber decking is pressure treated to UC3u, meaning it is treated for use outdoors, but not in direct contact to the ground. However, it is often advisable to further treat decking with decking preserver or decking oils to protect from UV damage, damp and weathering.
