TLX Silver is a popular 2-in-1 Multifoil Insulation and Vapour Control Layer due to it’s welded edge seams, it creates an effective airtight seal as a vapour barrier. Made from layers of loft quilt and reflective foil layers, It is designed for use on the interior side of the roof or wall structure, and ideally should be combined with other insulation materials such as PIR board placed between rafters or studs.

What is Multi foil insulation?
Multi-foil insulation is a type of thermal insulation material composed of several layers of reflective foil, often with additional materials such as foam or bubble wrap sandwiched in between. What is a Vapour Control Layer (VCL)?
A vapour control layer (VCL), also known as a vapour barrier, is a material used in building construction to prevent the passage of water vapour through walls, ceilings, floors, or roofs. It is typically installed on the “warm” side of the insulation (typically the interior side) where it helps to control moisture levels within the building envelope. By blocking the movement of water vapour, a VCL helps to prevent condensation from occurring within the building structure, which can lead to issues such as mould growth, rot, and reduced insulation effectiveness.
How to install TLX Gold Insulating Breather Membrane
TLX Silver is designed for use on the “warm” (typically interior) side of a structure, in combination with an air gap on either side of the insulation. Cut to size with sharp scissors or craft knife and apply horizontally in a continuous roll across rafters or wall battens and fix in place with a staple gun. Install with an overlap, sealed with insulation tape to give an airtight seal. Finish with counter battens and plasterboard or other dry lining materials.
