Add some thermal insulation to a wide range of floor types with our selection of floor insulation such as PIR Insulation, Jablite flooring insulation and Multi-foil insulation - find the perfect product for insulating concrete and solid flooring, between flooring joists and over flooring joists.

What is Floor Insulation?

Floor insulation involves installing materials beneath the flooring of a building to reduce heat loss and improve energy efficiency. This insulation typically consists of materials such as EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) Board, Mineral wool batts or multifoil rolls - which are placed between the floor joists or beneath the floorboards. Floor insulation helps to create a thermal barrier, preventing heat from escaping through the floor and keeping the interior of the building warmer in colder months. It also contributes to soundproofing and can help to reduce energy bills by decreasing the need for heating.

What is PIR Insulation?

Polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation is a type of rigid foam insulation backed with a foil layer, that is renowned for its exceptional thermal performance. It is a strong and light type of foam that keeps structures warm by trapping air inside. PIR insulation is lightweight, durable, and offers excellent fire resistance and thermal insulating properties, making it a super DIY-friendly solution that can easily be cut to size to fit rafters, joists and stud walls, and used as Cavity Wall Insulation.

What is Jablite Floor Insulation?

Jablite is a manufacturer of EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) insulation which is a lightweight, rigid foam insulation material made from expanded polystyrene beads that can be easily cut to size and installed in various building applications, including walls, roofs, and floors. EPS insulation is manufactured by expanding polystyrene beads with steam and then moulding them into boards. These boards help to reduce heat transfer and maintain consistent indoor temperatures. It is also moisture-resistant, durable, and resistant to mould and mildew growth, making it a popular choice for both residential and commercial insulation projects.

What is Multi Foil Insulation?

Multi-foil insulation is a type of thermal insulation material composed of several layers of reflective foil, often with additional materials such as foam or bubble wrap sandwiched in between. The reflective foil layers work by reflecting radiant heat, preventing it from entering or escaping a building, thus helping to maintain desired temperatures and improve energy efficiency. This type of insulation is popular for its lightweight and flexible nature, making it easy to install in various construction applications, such as roofs, walls, and floors. In flooring, it is typically applied as flooring insulation below the flooring, rolling across and over the flooring joists with any joins sealed with butyl tape.
